  • Must apply within 90 days of purchase

  • Must be an Illinois resident

  • Vehicle cannot be a leased or rented vehicle

  • Must keep vehicle for at least 12 months after being purchased

  • Must be purchased on or after July 1, 2022 (for this rebate cycle)

Rebate Amounts

Currently, the rebate amount is $4,000 for a fully electric vehicle and $1,500 for a fully electric motorcycle. This amount will go down in future cycles. The amount of rebates given out depends on how many funds the program has for that particular cycle. Low-income households have priority when the rebates are distributed.

Application Process

Low income applicants will be given first priority, and the rest of the funds will be distributed based on the order that the IEPA gets the applications.
