Electric Vehicle Rebate
The Illinois Electric Vehicle Rebate Program was created through CEJA, the Climate and Equitable Jobs Act. The rebate program applies to purchases of fully electric vehicles, including motorcycles, and the eligibility requirements along with other details are laid out below.

Eligibility Requirements

Must be a fully electric vehicle

Must apply within 90 days of purchase

Must be an Illinois resident

Vehicle cannot be a leased or rented vehicle

Must keep vehicle for at least 12 months after being purchased

Must be purchased on or after July 1, 2022 (for this rebate cycle)

Application period is open until September 30, 2022 (for this rebate cycle)
Rebate Amounts
Currently, the rebate amount is $4,000 for a fully electric vehicle and $1,500 for a fully electric motorcycle. This amount will go down in future cycles. The amount of rebates given out depends on how many funds the program has for that particular cycle. Low-income households have priority when the rebates are distributed.

Low income applicants will be given first priority, and the rest of the funds will be distributed based on the order that the IEPA gets the applications.
