Dear Friends,

I hope you're having a wonderful summer! This is one of my favorite times of the year because it gives me the opportunity to spend more time in our community meeting with residents, attending local events, and hearing directly about the issues that matter most to you.

Over the past several weeks, my team and I have been talking with neighbors at their doors and hosting Citizen Advisory Committees on issues like health care, education, and the environment. The ideas and feedback we've received are invaluable, and we're already using those conversations to begin shaping our legislative agenda for the coming year.

One of this year’s constituent-originated bills was recently signed into law: Thanks to the advocacy and enthusiasm of Lincoln Junior High School students, Illinois now has the Black-and-Gold Bumblebee as its official state bee! It was a privilege to work alongside these students and teachers throughout the legislative process, and I was honored to join them as Governor Pritzker signed the bill into law.

This month, you'll also find information about several opportunities to connect with my office in person, along with a reminder about the upcoming Illinois Sales Tax Holiday. I hope to see many of you at one of our events this summer.

As always, thank you for the opportunity to serve as your State Representative.

Sincerely,

Janet
