  • Holiday Open House

Dear Friends,

Happy holidays to you and your family!

The end of the year is upon us, and my office and I have been preparing in earnest for the upcoming 2024 legislative session. I’ll be in Springfield starting on January 16 to introduce a number of bills that have come from students, businesses, and other community members. Every email, phone call, or meeting that you have sent, made, or attended has helped shape our district’s priorities and agenda. With a live survey and upcoming open house and town hall, we still have plenty of ways for you to be part of the process. I’ve included more details below on how you can make sure your voice is heard and how you can learn more about what’s in store for the new year.

If you or someone you know is interested in becoming even more involved with these efforts, please also take a look at our district office’s newest job opening, below. Constituent services is the core of our office’s work, and we’re looking for a special person who has the heart and passion for solving problems and serving the community.

As always, please never hesitate to contact my office or me if we can be of service to you or your loved ones.

Sincerely,

Janet

2024 Legislative Survey

By now, households in the 41st district should have received in the mail our district’s 2024 legislative survey. This survey covers topics such as budgets, education, public safety, and the economy.

Your past responses to similar surveys have directly affected our state’s policy and budget decisions in these areas, and I am grateful for all who have taken the time to provide your feedback. Please continue to submit your responses via email, mail, or text; you can also complete the survey online.

January Town Hall

At our January 4, 2024 town hall, we’ll go over the results of the legislative survey, follow-up on work from this summer’s various Citizen Advisory Panels, and preview 2024’s legislative agenda. There are a number of important areas I expect my colleagues in the General Assembly and I will cover come January, including:

  • End-of-life care and medical aid-in-dying options

  • Student mental health care

  • Environmental transparency and education

If you have specific topics or questions that you want me to address, please send a note or fill out the form on the town hall RSVP page. I hope you’ll join me and your neighbors in this community-wide conversation.

District Office Staff Opening

It’s always bittersweet when a valued colleague moves on, but we are also so happy for the new opportunities our district constituent coordinator, Meag, will have in her new non-state role. If you or someone you know is interested in serving the community with a role in our district office, please let us know by sending a cover letter and resume to careers@repyangrohr.com.

Constituent services are the core of our office’s work. Here’s a note from Meag about her experience in the office:

"It has been an honor (and a lot of fun!) working with this office and constituents of the 41st district to solve problems and strategize solutions together. I will miss working in Constituent Services but hope to see you all at one of Rep. Yang Rohr's events in the future!"
